I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.Â

Wonderful building, love the downstairs windows. Must agree with Andrea though, about the sky but a good composition.

A good shot Wally. The house looks austere but is brightened by the pond and fountains.

Age of your buildings always boggle my mind...I look at barrington Court and think of the many generations that have called this beautiful place home.

Majestic home and there must be a dozen fireplaces - ZOOM in on the roof. Dana

Despite the slight unlevel horizon, I find this has a stunning enchantment to it. Excellent composition.
