Description

Evening all :o) Jennie never got discharged until today because of some complications ,but she is now home and settled .We shall have to see now how she gets on . For those that dont believe it either ,this is a Rat in my back garden running along the fence .There is an old lady a few doors down that is throwing cooked food onto the garden for the birds which in turn has encouraged these .This shot was taken yesterday afternoon ,quite brazen is`nt it .I`ve called in environmental health and hopefully this will be sorted quickly . Thanks for looking and take care :o) Mick

We have a stupid council policy that now says you can only report rats on your own property and not even on behalf of your neighbour even if they've asked you to. They also now charge..so the town is running wick with them. I haven't had any for several years but it's more by good luck than good management. Also the bait available for the public to buy doesn't kill anything..luckily I have a huge commercial tub from before the ban!

So glad to hear Jennie is finally at home and I hope she can continue to improve Mick. You might want to suggest to your neighbor that she put the food for the birds in a feeder of some sort ;)

Holy smoke! You can't kill rats now? Where's the Health and Safety in that? Glad to hear Jenny is home...but probably not half as glad as she is:)

Ewwwwww----yuck----and ugh!! Rats are awful and unfortunately, I've had the distinct displeasure of dealing with them personally. And once again to Jenny--welcome home!!

We have a few of these running our fence line. I remember when we first moved to this neighborhood we had the big roof rats running back and forth between the yards in the evening and I vowed that would stop. Took 3 years but I finally took care of at least the yards around me and my own. Now I have a few of these smaller rats but they don't hang around much. None under the house or in the garden and they quake when they see me outside now. :-) Guess they finally understand I have traps...both snappers and live ones where even with live ones they don't usually get to go home after trapping. LOL Really cool shot and great news about Jenny!

Sounds like the solution to this problem would be to live trap them then release them in the county council building. Politicians seem to react quicker if the problem is on their doorstep, ha ha! Fortunately for me, living in Alberta, we are rat free and have been quite successful in keeping it that way through continued diligence in eradicating colonies around our borders.

I'm glad to hear Jennie is home ... I hope she perks up and does well now that she's back in her own environment! Sorry to hear (and see!) about the rats. Yikes! Fortunately I live in a place that's got quite a nice little woodland area right here, so anything like rats and whatnot stays out there where it belongs and doesn't bother me.
