Description
The Frari’s Basilica. Altar of the Crucifix. This altar was designed by Baldassarre Longhena (1598-1682), the most influential Baroque architect of Venice. It was erected in 1672 by Giusto Le Court (1627-1679). Detail: two angels hold the image of Christ printed on the sudarium of Veronica.
