Description

The service Saturday for Shane was beautiful and moving. there were a lot of great stories about him. The reception afterwards was wonderful and I was able to get a lot of pictures for his mother, father, Daughter and grandmother. I came home, and I thought of the song in the movie, Shrek, Hallelujah! I downloaded two versions and have been listening to them since the service. I felt I had to create an image which showed not only my feeling but of those who have lost someone close to them. Here it is. Hallelujah! Mike

Mike, this is absolutely beautiful and touching! This says more than a thousand words could possibly say. I've had that song going around in my head for the last two days - such a beautiful piece of music, and it goes perfectly with your art!

When I was in junior high school Mike I had a teacher that told the class about two Irish wakes he had attended as a boy. A great aunt had died and the family threw a party with music and drinking and laughter. Then he answered our unasked questions. "We had a party because she had been a wonderful lady and we all knew where she was going." When his uncle died the family held a wake where people wept and wore black. My teacher explained that the man had been a selfish bastard all his life and they all knew where he was going. It seems your friend's wake was filled with laughter and great stories. Perhaps the family can take some comfort in knowing where Shane is going.

Beautiful artwork Mike... A really lovely thought, idea and execution! Most touching, especially for me at this time in life, as well. Losing someone is never easy. It glows with beauty and symbolism!
