Description
Somehow I doubt that this rendering will be very popular. The motivation in creating this image is little odd. I wanted to see how closely I could simulate a telescopic view of Mars just with Bryce. I chose a ccd image by Antonio Cidadao (which I cannot include here because I do not have his permission.) The cloud cover over Hellas is taken from a real HST photo. I basically took the blue channel and converted it to a transparency map. I have also added a bluish global haze around the planet. Ground fog and clouds perferentially tend to form along the terminator (day/night line), and that is very hard to recreate without resorting to post work. The blur was not post work. I just chose "Depth of Field" in Rendering options and adjusted the lens size. All-in-all, tho', the image is good enough that it might be able to fool a fairly experienced observer.

Well, being an amature astronymer myself, I'd say this would fool me if I didn't know better. Creative use of bryce. Good job.
