Description

"Calling Sky Captain! Calling Sky Captain!!" New York 1939 and the night is shattered by the arrival of a vast army of huge robots, all controlled by the evil mad scientist Dr Totenkopf! As the behemoths trample everything underfoot a distress call is sent out to the one man who can save the city - Joe Sullivan, AKA Sky Captain, commander of the Flying Legion. Before long the winged hero is over the city and prepares to do battle... I am more grateful to my friend Geodesic250 than I can say for this wonderful robot model. It's not 100% accurate, but close enough. Thank you so much John... you're a star, mate! I added some rivet detail and the antennae to the base model and gave it a texture, but 99% of the model is John's. I feel I am getting closer to the look of the film with this one, darker and softer in equal turns. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it. Iain

You work fast! This looks like a screen shot from the movie. Glad you could use my attempt at that robot. To bad Sky Captain lost money as a sequel would have been fun.

Thanks guys... I will take the model apart in UVMapper and that should allow me to pose the robots and make more dynamic use of them.

Thanks everyone... the film has a very unique look and it's difficult to try and recreate it, but I like to think I'm getting there.
