Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Yeah me to! I especially like all the mussels and barnacles that call it home.

Well, this is why you wear flip-flops all the time isn't it? I like these pics...very cool and wet. Neat Marilyn:)

I just LOVE this POV! Excellent shot Marilyn with the sun sparkling like little jewels on the water! Bravo! :)

I couldn't resist commenting on this as I've been staring at it, preparing to go to bed, staring at it again, deciding to eat a piece of cheese, and staring at it yet again. This is quite hypnotic...I think it's the play of sunlight on the water and the dominance of blue/green colors. It's incredibly calming, rather like a visual lullaby, not one to put you to sleep so much as one to just ease the load of the day. I really love the composition here, the geometry of it as well as the freeform undulations of the water. This rocks. The grain in the wood is stunning and perfectly picked out!

FAB! I can imagine you and I going on an 'UNDERPIERS' holiday, and having a marvellous time.

Excellent image! I'd love to know where this was. :)

Superb work - the repeating crosspieces an vertical piles is fascinating - and the color of the water is great, too.

Shades of the mystery movie, I Cover the Waterfront. And you do, literally! It ap-piers you captured the underside of the structure in all its glory, M! Love the repetition and the color and texture of the wood and ocean!

Beautiful sub boardwalk shot. If you sat on a rug on the boardwalk and made noises that immitate the sound of the sea, would you be considered to be 'onomatopoeia'?!! :~)

None of my shots of these supports came out at all decently; this is great!

Lots more cross beam supports than usual. Sweet catch of the barnacles. Dana

Amazing how a wooden pier would last a long time in water. Aloha
