Description

------------- The Braxton Expedition – Lord Braxton

We are not silly little school girls, nor are we nuns of the Avandorian church. Neither are we the slutty Sisters of the Pearl. We are the Church of Isis. As such all things are known to us, but we exercise restraint and discipline in our lives. I, myself, am no child, nor am I unknown to man. Such are not the tenants of our faith. For Saint Ashtaroth, Isis’ matron of love, teaches lust as well. So when I speak of Lord Braxton, know that I do not speak from the inexperienced longings of a teenager, but deeper and more mature feelings.

I first learned of Lord Braxton from correspondence with Doctor Taylor Hayes III at the Raidon Royal Academy. Dr Hayes described him in sufficiently flowery language that my interest was piqued even before laying eyes on the man. When he first arrived at the Temple of Isis, he was some weeks early, and I was anything but presentable. I feared the Great Mother had seen my yearning and was bent on teaching me a lesson. I was crushed. There stood Lord Braxton, tall, straight, a few years older than myself, with a jaw line and clear, sparkling eyes that spoke of noble breeding and a healthy life. His smile was infectious and persistent, even through the darkest of times, and his curiosity was as insatiable as my own. Through every hardship we would later face, he was always the one looking to discover what was over the next hill, or around the next bend. It was his drive as much as any games of fate that led us as far as we ventured.

As to the man, himself, I learned many things, for my interest in him was as rapacious as my interest in science and paratechnology. He was born the third Baronette of Glaucusmoor, some remote spot in Sonntaglia. His early life and schooling were typical for his class and position. He lived a life of ease and leisure and had no need for adventuring or exploration. Apparently, he caught the adventuring bug as a young boy reading Sonntaglian fiction. In a land where magic and monsters are rarities, where life presents a different set of hardships, the reading and writing of stories of fancy has become something of a business. With his curiosity set afire, and the wealth to engage his fancy, Lord Braxton set off for the west at the age of 20. He spent four years in Raidon, in graduate studies in Arcanology and Archaeology, and came to Beotharn two years ago on an expedition into the southern Cebu Mountains.

He is personable, ever friendly to all but the most vile creatures and villains, and imminently honorable. He has a warmth that lights a room, and a strength that chases away all fears and worries. There is nothing I would not do to protect or comfort him.
