You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

HOW exciting! What a super structure, and presumably you've already eaten your way up that stem! This is a subject definitely worthy of some really close-up pics, Brigitte!

Well now you've gone and done it! I have to go banana shopping now, I've such a taste for one... Great shot, and interesting surmise about architecture and banana stalks. : )

I've always found bananas to be "a-peeling" (get it... peel, banana peel, appealing...okay, I'll stop now...) damn spiffy capture there, especially with the tail...I used to work in an indoor garden... rainforest mostly... that had a couple banana trees... the fruits would always get stolen...miss the rainforest... when it was minus 30 outside, it was always plus 23 inside!

Wonderful images!

Amazing captures and I have never seen this wonderful tail before. I guess because all our bananas are from the supermarket. Thank you for showing me a closeup of this, and you are right it certainly does have an ancient greek feel to it, but prettier.

This reminds me of my aunt Dorothy she has banana trees out around their pool I use to love to visit when they were ripe. I buy bananas every week without fail, and yesterday my daughter asked did you buy any bananas and I said no why? and she said oh I am trying to make a home made facial mask.. LOL the one week I don't she suddenly wants them. Oh well. Maybe she can borrow a few of yours. :)

I am not so hot on bananas anymore. However, I love Costa Rican plantains! In the national dish of "casada", especially! When we were there, I got to see several banana plants (some flowering) up close and personal. They are beautiful. Hard to say what the Greeks got the columns from: a bundle of reeds? Cool pic!

Very lovely Fruit-collage, even something like bana-architecture!

Oh, and now my mind is full of all sorts of wonderful dishes that include bananas like apple banana bread and sweet banana jam to just name two. Fascinating structure in the banana tree...new to me:) Fine collage.
