Description
As seen from Mayhill, New Mexico. Photographed in 10 minute exposure subframes using Sulfur II, Hydrogen Alpha, and Oxygen III narrowband filters. Camera: FLI 16803. 'Scope: Takahashi FSQ-106.
The Rosette Nebula lies in the constellation Monoceros. It is an open cluster surrounded by nebulosity and is at a distance of around 5200 light years away.

Fantastic image. It is something I had always wanted to do, but haven't come around to it. I had considered several time to purche an equarorial mount tripod suitable for time exposure shots. This is fantastic. Thanks for the information.
