Description
Gathering for a light brunch of fruits, nuts, wine, and the company of good friends and sisterhood Hatshepsut still intrigued by Salimas’ remark inquires among her friends.
Noticing Hatshepsuts seems more then a bit distracted, her mind on something else as if she’s not even in the room with the rest of her friends,
Makeda inquires, “are you still fretting over your mothers attitude “?
Shaking her head Hatshepsut, “replies no, not at all, but there is something that has me a bit perplexed”.
“Well!” Neema calls over from the lounge, looking past the servant as if she isn’t even there; “don’t just leave us dangling; tell us, what has your mind so engaged that it seems to be a million miles away right now”.
Yes.. yes.. says Masika, taking a seat in the chair next to Makeda as Nanu and Tabia look on with concerned expressions on their faces.
“Have any of you ever heard the term Gods Wife?”, replies Hatshepsuts.
New one on me replies Nanu turning her head towards Tabia with what has changed from a concerned to slightly bemused expression on her face.
Laughing a loud at this Neema says, “Can you believe this? Her Mother is off somewhere asking the Gods shoo her daughter into marriage chambers of some prince, any prince, and the girl standing here talking about marring a God.
“Wait a moment!” Makeda chimes in with a very serious tone in her voice.
Knowing she could always count on Makeda, her best and truest friend, Hatshepsuts listens intently as Makeda questions, “Is their not a temple in Thebes that has something to do with that”?
“There are many temples in Thebes”, replies Tabia.
“You know” chimes in Neema, “I do vaguely recall hearing something about that, Gods Wife in my studies, but I just can’t recall what it was”.
This causes both Hatshepsuts and Makeda to raise an eyebrow and give one another a very dubious look. Not so much because they do not believe Neema or doubt her intelligence in anyway, but because out of all of them she is the one that lives up to the meaning her name the most, {born to wealthy parents}and that is one girl who is not afraid or ashamed to show it.
Then Makeda speaks, “Hatshepsuts why don’t we just borrow one of your fathers’ barges and go find out for ourselves”? It’s only a two day trip from Memphis to Thebes”.
“I’m up for it”, voices Nanu.
Yes says Masika, as all the others voice their willingness to go as well.
Well it’s a plan then says Makeda, we can have the servants make ready the barge and leave first light tomorrow then.
Thank you steeleyes for allowing me to participate in your project. You have a creative imagination. and have put a lot of time and effort into this as well.

Always like seeing artists work with complex scenes like this. details, multiple figures. Would love to see this with a bit more atmospheric lighting rather then so clear.. but otherwise, Bravo for doing something above the norm!!

Unbelievable beautiful and probably realistic rendering of the egyptian palace at Hatshepsut's time. The most intriguing egyptian queen. I love the concept of two artists working together like this!
