The way of the lion Is one of patience and stealth If he must, he will fight to the death But this is not the true measure of his strength It is his self control that makes him mighty For he knows how to listen ... to look ... and to wait. Way Of The Lion prose by Carol Cavalaris © Credits: Another in my 'Spirit Of The Wild' series paying tribute to my totem animal the lion. Sometimes I need his message to trust my intuition, and imagination, and to practice patience. I tried to capture his energy in bold strokes and textures, in the colors of the sun, gold, earth, and fire. Created in Photoshop CS, using lion photos, painting techniques, blended with a Nuances background by designfera. Special thanks to Ilona Krijgsman for the use of her marvelous photos. This is an amazing piece of work to behold and to go into! As I write this, I'm actually revisiting my Nemaean universe, plotting out an upcoming installment, so it's pure, beautiful serendipity that I see not one lion, but three. I've always held a particular fondness for lions. I was born under the sign of Leo and as a result, that mythic lion is the only sign of the zodiac I know anything about. This is marvelous work: you capture the regal dignity of lions, and their casual grace to perfectly here. I love this piece!
