Born in Bucharest, Romania, from a German mother and a half Austrian/half Romanian father. My passion since I was a little boy was the photography. During the high school years I created my own photo lab, but lately I've I had to give up on it. Years later (mid 90's) I started all over again, working on photography, of course, just for fun. Since then, I've changed lots of cameras, about 5 of 35mm and if I'm not mistaken, over 10 digital ones. Right now I'm using an Olympus E-volt 500, and I'm pretty happy with it, but soon I'll have to get one more professional than this E-volt, and I think that will be a Canon. Due to my job, I had the chance to visit many and beautiful places across the U.S. and Canada, taking pictures of all those beauties, and here, on this page, as well as on my blog, I'll try to share some of them, as well as pictures from some European countries. Hope you gonna like 'em!  You can find me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/kaartijer Have a wonderful day! Love y'all! 10.24.08    Updated today, Jan 20, 2010 Meanwhile, as I planned, I bought a Canon... it was a really good deal at Sam's Club, the camera (10 MP), two lenses (14-45 mm and 70-300 mm), a large Canon case, memory card, etc., and all of these for only $650... oh well, I took about 100 shot and none of 'em was a good one.... so for now I gonna stick with Olympus, a camera that I love more and more!  Â

It reminds me of a town in California called Solvang which is a charming Danish village. And wow what a journey they had, I was worn out just reading about their adventures.. Beautiful work.

WEll, so far having seen one collage thingy, I like this one best heehee. Actually, I do like it, it's really nicely presented. From Drunken captains to smallpox, you realize that'll give moving a bad name!

So, where is the other collage...for comparison ? It looks o.k., but IMHO I think you should have 'squared up' (horizonline) on the centre pic with the waterfall (also, it isn't very sharp) it doesn't look so good, if you want to sell this product to tourists, Eddie. Good effort for starters, let's see the rest ! BB

Well done. This looks like a great place to visit. What a story this place has, thanks for sharing it.

@ BB Thanks for the critique! Well, I'm not trying to sell anything, everything I do, I do it just for fun. The waterfall originally was sharp, I made it blurry, and about the horizon line, I straightened up already, but yes, you're right, I thought it was enough... The other collage will be tomorrow... or after tomorrow...

I love the all Eddie...I don agree just straighten the waterfall one up and your all set. Beautiful work!

OMG, what an odessey these immigrants had to endure. I like this collage or post card because it reminds me so much of Bavaria where I lived with my family in the 1970s. Well done Eddie!

The waterfall looks great as it is and since it is the subject of the lens and NOT the horizon, I'd leave it alone. great history
