Description

I bought these Iris bulbs years ago and the ones that the bloody gophers hadn't managed to eat: $15.00-$20.00 a bulb for the more exotic ones (and even at five bucks a pop for the cheap ones) = VERY expensive gopher food!!!!! I have a few clusters of the bulbs that managed to survive are in pots that the little rodents can't get to. These haven't bloomed in a long time, but, shock of shocks, the other day my Mom said that one of my Iris plants had a bloom on it...and sure enough, it's got FOUR blooms on it! And this is actually one of the more expensive bulbs giving these beautiful blooms (I may not remember how much I paid for it, but I know that the pricy ones were the ones that got hucked into the pots rather than serve as futher gopher feed!). I don't know what kind of Iris this is, specifically, but it's certainly a beautiful bloom. And it's likely the only one I'm going to get from these plants this year. So, I'll enjoy these lovely flowers for as long as they last. Hope you enjoy. Photo (c) 2010 Twilight Productions

Simply gorgeous capture my love. A beautiful blossom, outstanding color, and love how the depth of field worked in the background. Glad the gophers didn't get to this one!

What a Beauty! I also love the water-drops, atmosphere and mood of this picture. In a way , the petals are swinging.

I don't know what kind it is either, but I really don't think it matters unless someone wants to get one like it, it's just plain beautiful to look at! You've captured it in wonderful light, and those water drops give it that extra magical touch!
