Description

Due to the long and cold winter nature is late this year. Normally our prunus (sorry, don't know the english name) already blooms somewhere in March and by the time it's April 6, all the flowers have gone. But now it's April 6, my husband's birthday, and although some flowers are open, it's still not in full bloom. Today will be a very sunny day, so we'll be expecting all flowers to have opened by tomorrow. ^_^ Yvonne This is how our Prunus really looks like: thumb_2041966.jpg

Lovely image and texture. Prunus, I think is cherry, or it might be crab apple. Both can be simply flowering without much in the way of fruit. Other cultivars bear fruit. So I hope your prunus blooms soon, and happy birthday to your husband.

Give my good wishes to hubby. He goes forth into a new year and with the prospect of flowers for a good send-off. Whatever! The sun is the bounty, and the more welcome for the harsh winter. The picture reminds me of leaves long since discarded and well on their way to feed nature's larder on forest floor.

I love this pretty image. When I first looked at it, and before I read what you wrote, my thought was that it reminds me of the ground under our flowering cherry tree. It has bloomed and now our yard is filled with pink and white petals that have fallen off.

Happy birthday to hubby and this really does have that spring feel to it. I always look out for the prunus blossom as it is one of the earliest to flower.
