Description
Ladybugs are one of the prettiest insects.
There are about 5000 species. Most ladybugs consume plant-eating insects, such as aphids, and thus protect crops. Farmers love them for that reason. An adult ladybug can consume up to 1000 aphids in a day.
There are a few species that eat the plants, but the majority are good to have around.
Their bright color and spots are supposed to help ward off predators. Ladybugs can secrete a fluid from joints in their legs which give them a foul taste.
So a reminder, look but don't eat. lol

I was thinking why I know it with a different name and what was that name... I tried to remember hard it's name I knew, and it came out at last to be lady bird... I hope you wont mind if I call it ladybird :P Beautiful little insect (definitely not bird). And an excellent shot indeed! :)

yes, they are also called ladybirds, ladybird beetles. . . I guess it's all where you're from. :)
