Description

The SH-2 'Seasprite', built by Kaman Aircraft Corporation, is a ship-based helicopter with anti-submarine, anti-surface threat capability, including over-the-horizon targeting. It was used in 'Operation Earnest Will' (24 July 1987-26 Sept 1988), in 'Operation Praying Mantis' (18 April 1988) and during 'Desert Storm' (January 1991). It was retired in October 1997. This SH-2 is on static display on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier 'USS Midway CV-41'. This picture was taken on 12 February 2010. Thanks for visiting, Sig...

Great shot the Sea Sprite had a distinguished career in the US Navy and it's nice to see she's still an attention getter.
