Description

These are from an exhibition on the local museum. Took this shot couble of years back at the opening of the exhibition. I hope you all are having a wonderful day. Here the weather was SO SO ! A little rain and not much sun. We have had some really busy, but good days and today I am exhausted. Now it is evening and I havent had time for commentings or uploadings. I hope I can manege to catch up on you. Got some new furniture. Some of it was to be build by ourselve, made a SOLID lunch with my nephew and his sweet wife, had electrician, worked on the studio, and alot of other NOT creative things. And the usual: Thanks for viewing and kind comments to my previous post and special warm thanks go to those, who added it to their favorites. :)

Even though they were meant to kill, they are still beautiful objects! We have had a glorious day, for once!

I agree with Andrea - despite being meant to kill, they are gorgeous! I see someone removed one in front! Was that you???? Hehehe... If you don't have time to comment - then don't - rather get a good rest! :)

I wouldn't have liked to have been hit with one of these as they look pretty heavy. Excellent capture.

For the record I would like to say that not all cannonballs were used for battle. Often these were used as ballast in the vessel. Seems to be different cast material in the couple left of frame. Different weathering I guess?? An interesting image

WOW! Maybe it's just my crazy brain but these almost look edible. Aside from that, this is a really intriguing photograph. I like the rough textures of the objects themselves and I can imagine the damage they'd do as they hit their targets. Beautiful image.

Right up my alley...being a history buff and retired from the army, you know these sort of relics always get my attention. These wouldn't have flown very straight, but I wouldn't have wanted to be standing in front of one...ouch!
