Description

This morning I posted part of a huge piece of driftwood and said there was a story that went along with it. So, here it is---- A couple of months ago, as I walked on the beach, I spotted this long, snakelike piece of driftwood. I posted a foto of it and called it Sea Serpent. (I've tried several times to make a link to this and it just won't work. It's on page 8 of my gallery if you want to look) The next time I went, it was gone, just a small piece sticking out of the sand. So, this last weekend, back I went and what do I find??? That same huge piece of driftwood. At first I thought, did it get washed away and float back? No way that could happen. Then I realized it had gotten buried, and then exposed as the waves broke over the beach. So, that's the story, yet another chapter in my ongoing beach series. Hope you're not tired of all of this, I can't seem to stay away, so there are probably lots more coming!!

Love these rugged beach photos - reminds me of home. The "sea serpent" was not damaged while buried. Great capture and super textures all over the place. Dana

I don't blame you - if I had a beach nearby, I'd be there every day. Especially if there were things like this to photoggraph! Lovely photo!

This really demonstrates how astonishingly powerful natures work here has been.

I see that deep cut down on the beach and it tells me that the waves can get huge and pound with force. And pull a lot of sand back out with it. Great shot.

Thank you, Paul Harvey. Cool POV and stark contrast in this fine foto, Maz! Along with this uniquely shaped driftwood, I marvel at the black sand so prominent in your latest beach fotos.

I agree that your POV really works wonders in this already gorgeous image! I see an echo of "El Arco" in this too, not like a repeat or anything like that, but the same sort of sweeping "mood" if that makes any sense. I love the darker hues as well and the timelessness of this...it could be a recent piece of wood or it could be nearly petrified wood suddenly exposed by some geological upheaval! Nice!
