Description

I created this 3D image for a energy company to illustrate drilling and seismic concepts. This image started out as a pencil sketch, scanned and imported into Adobe Illustrator where I traced the formations. Then I took the Illustrator eps files and imported into Lightwave to model the formations. I imported the LWO models into Vue where I added the textures and the rest of the models. The truck models came from a set of books of models called 500 3D Objects published by Taschen. The models were extensively remodeled to get what you see in the image. Once I had the render done I imported into Photoshop to add the text. The original render size was 24 inches X 36 inches poster size. The client was happy and I got a lot of good feedback when they showed this image and others I had done to the public at their open house for communities near where they have their facilities.
