Description

A group of male and female Pteranodon sternbergi fly along a Cretaceous beach. Still trying to understand lighting and atmospheres. The model is a Dinoraul pteranodon that has been morphed into the sternbergi species by me. Terrain is modified from Luigi Marini's "The Island" scene. The Island by Luigi Marini at Cornucopia3D Tree ferns by Dinoraul

I really like this combination here! There is so much to admire and to think about! It's got both elements of futuristic and prehistoric at the same time. I couldn't help but think of that movie. .. "The land before Time"....... what a superb depiction of the land and it's occupants.... at one point or other :) Fantastic image!

'I told you that giving him one of those navigation systems for his birthday was a bad idea, Mum!' ;o) Seriously, though, I like the POV, and that feeling of effortless gliding on behalf of this colourful beauty. Warm regards, from Glasgow's first sunny day of 2010 ( about time! ), John.

Very cool composition. You can almost feel the breeze as he glides by.

That is really cool. I could see this being a museum diorama backdrop and I work in a museum so that is not just idle talk. I like the fact that you know your critters well enouogh to make species level fixes on the models. That attention to detail impresses me and takes the image out of the fantasy genre.
