Description

Carpenter bees move around randomly when they hover. Maybe there are cameras that can follow them, but my Rebel Xsi isn't one of them. I got in a bit of manual focus practice trying to track this one to get the picture. It's a fun way to get to know your camera. Huntsville Alabama, April 2010

Super capture- the subjects that move are the most challenging. Well done!

Good job! I have lots of those little girls (they are females) circling me today! (5)

Very nicely done. Too many photographers now depend on auto focus. Letting the camera decide your artistic presentation (depth of field, focal point, etc) is abdicating too much in my opinion. I really like this shot.

But but but where's his hammer and tool bag??? I've never actually known there were bees called by that name. Lovely work on this fellow, well done. : )

With my camera, I have only 3 seconds to see if my focus is working in the LCD and that's not enough for me to make a decision. so I have nearly given up on the manual focus feature. But I did say Nearly Give Up...not quite. I'm still working with it. This is a fantastic job.

Nice shot. I have an XTi and it cant catch these in flight either in Auto Focus. Manual and a lot of patience is the only way I think. Well done.
