Description

It seemed like every time I turned around at my friend's house the other day, there was another wonderful surprise waiting for me. This is out her back porch, a beautiful old concrete staircase. The green is moss that's grown there since it's partly shaded. I couldn't get the whole thing, but loved this view.

Nice view. I went up and down a similar set of stairs to this every day I went to college in Charleston, South Carolina. Just had to pay attention to where I walked.

Great capture; I love the shapes it takes! I had a spiral staircase in a house I rented some years back, and discovered they're harder to maneuver than you might imagine, especially if you've had a drink or two; I remember leaning into the middle support and just following it up/down, but carrying anything (laundry basket or a suitcase) was extremely difficult!

It reminds me of the inside of a sea shell.

Excellent shot! My wifes mother had a three story house with a internal wooden spiral staircase in it, you had to be a bit careful when using it..

A lovely array of colours, especially the green reflected from the grass blending with the moss.

This is gorgeous! Oh, I love those textures! I love that helix shape too...it reminds me of the movie Gattaca only without Uma Thurman looking elegant and angelic and hot in that way that only she can pull off, and Ethan Hawke looking yummy in that way that's just yummy, but I digress...I do that a lot, don't I? What textures! I keep staring at them! You captured an entire environment here and you've only shown us this much of it! That's a nice trick to have under your belt. It's poetic. It's precise, but free. And I love the geometry of this, the curve, the verticals, the shadow/light and the green. Nice stuff. If Pavl saw this he'd probably want to scamper up those stairs...he like to scamper, you know...it must be a Czech thing.
