Description

Another image that illustrates Jazz and her life in The City. This one is out of sequence (should have been before the "Her New Home" image) and shows her first quarters when she moved away from her parents: A so-called "Cube". They are typically arranged in large dormitories. Each room has 16 cubes (8 on each side, stacked two high) and an attached sanitary/shower room and small food prep area. Jazz's cube is in the Aquilonia dormitory on sublevel 7 (i.e. 7 stories below street level). It is one of the better dormitories, reasonably clean and the cubes are fairly high quality with sound insulation, air conditioning and net access. The more basic cubes are little more than metal boxes. Jazz works two jobs as a temp and thus can afford the higher cost for a better cube and still save some money to eventually move into a more private place.
