Description

A vulcano far, far, far away (2.000km) on Iceland gives us clear skies.. No airplanes in the skies.. only birds.. that is for the first time in about 100 years !!!! Such unique year this is.. 2010... Venus and Mercury together A wonderful winter with snow and ice from the end of november till early april.. and now this amazing vulcano .. -=- Bad for economics.. but still... It is amazing how Nature and Earth show us this year who is boss..

Hi chris, you are right about the flying, it is absurd, and should be disencouraged, on the other hand, all this eartgaucking and movement just shows how futile and vulnerable we are, great pictures though, till the other vulcano (katla) says boom....

Beautiful sky alright. Nine-Eleven was the last time America had clear skies; all aircraft were grounded. Made for a clear sky in Kansas.

A nice looking picture, but the last time I saw a sky without planes in it was after 9/11, and I don't remember that time with any happiness.

I remember how very strange and eerie it was not to have planes in the skies after the 9-11 terrorist attacks in NYC, and then how strange it was to have the planes again! it must be much the same for you.
