Lungo il fosso a Bozzano , mentre seguivo api e farfalle, vedo questo animale che avevo sempre sentito nominare ,ma mai incontrato . Si tratta di un Ramarro, un tipo di lucertola piu’ grande e di un colore verde brillante. Si nascondeva in mezzo a alcune rocce e fuggiva appena mi avvicinavo , Ma ,con pazienza, mi sono seduto vicino e ho aspettato che facesse capolino e piano piano è uscito guardandomi con curiosità.

Il ramarro è lungo sino a 40 centimetri; la lunghezza della coda va dalla metà ai due terzi di quella totale. Nel maschio la colorazione dorsale è sul giallo- verde lucente, o verde-erba, spesso con abbondanti macchie nere. La parte ventrale è giallo chiaro; nella stagione degli amori la gola del maschio si colora di azzurro. Il maschio ha anche la testa più ampia e l'attaccatura della coda più spessa e consistente di quella della femmina; quest'ultima ha, a volte, un disegno bruno sul dorso ed una serie di 2-4 strisce longitudinali bianche o giallastre più o meno continue. La colorazione, comunque, varia non soltanto con l'età e con il sesso, ma anche con la località.
Il ramarro vive soprattutto in zone aride con boscaglie rade e cespugli, nelle brughiere e talvolta ai margini delle foreste di conifere. Predilige le regioni pianeggianti. questo Sauro si arrampica velocemente e con sicurezza sulle rocce e sui muri. Si nutre soprattutto di insetti e di larve.
The lizard is up to 40 cm long, tail length ranges from half to two thirds of that total. In the male the dorsal color is the bright yellow-green or green-grass, often with large black spots. The ventral side is pale yellow, in the breeding season the throat of the male is colored blue. The male also has the largest head and the tail thicker and more substantial than the female, the latter sometimes has a brown design on the back and a series of 2-4 longitudinal stripes or more white or yellowish less continuous. The coloring, however, varies not only with age and gender, but also with the village.
The lizard lives mainly in dry areas with sparse woods and bushes, the moors, and sometimes the edges of coniferous forests. He likes the flat regions. this Sauro climbs quickly and safely on the rocks and walls. It feeds mainly on insects and larvae.

I love lizards! This is a wonderful image of this one! Excellent work in waiting for him to come back out. The lizard seems to be cocking his head at you as if to say, 'What, are you STILL here?' Wonderful detail and color! Excellent background. It is not to busy to detract focus from the lizard, but gives an idea of him having come out from hiding. He looks beautiful against the orange tint of the rocks. I love his face! Absolutely fantastic capture! Amo le lucertole! Questa è una meravigliosa immagine di questo!
