Description
Juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk
(Sunset Landing at Lake Jackson)
This is the same hawk as my past post. I was mistaken on it's ID, it's not a Cooper's Hawk.
Hope you all enjoy and please zoom.
Thanks for the comments.

absolutely gorgeous!!! i love hawks...i have one that hangs close to my grounds as i am close to a small river and lots of wildlife. i love the predator birds. i have seen the hawk swoop down and take snakes and squirrels/rabbits. i dislike squirrels and rabbits as they intrude on my garden the little pest. i realize most folks think they're cute and i know someone who actually rescued a baby squirrel and bottle fed it and it was tamed. i have video of it crawling around on my leg...but they are nothing more than tree rats and they can damage property. the rabbits like to knaw on things so when i see my hawk friend grab one of them i am happy that he/she is eating well because i live in the city limits of a fairly large city and we should not have this many...they are over populated...so thank you powers that be for the hawks to naturally control the rodent population... this is an excellent shot of a beautiful creature...awesome work... chills and thrills
