Description

This little creature is commonly called a cuttlefish. The more scientific classification would be Cephalopoda. I myself find the pigmentation of the skin most interesting. No flash as are all my aquarium images. Taking the kids to Monterey in the morning and so a post for the day to come. Thanks to all that visit here.

Really fantastic shot of a truly underrated creature. The hint of green there just under the skin really looks fantastic!

Fantastic capture, great DoF, and a neat looking creature. Now I can put a..err... face with what Captain Jack Sparrow was refering to.

Cuttlefish? Looks more of a snob to me! Anyhow, great photograph! I could never take a picture like this at ISO 3200 with my camera! :(

This is wonderful. I've never had much luck getting any decent shots at the aquarium as I always go when it is mega busy and the whole experience is a nightmare!!!!!! PS Don't tell these guys but they remind me of their Calamari mates.....that I dined on with salt and pepper the other night!

Super pic! There is something very endearing about these lovely creatures, and all the effort they make in mating display.

Brilliantly sharp. A perfect catch. Was there a strobe involved?
