Description

ROLE-OUT In his mission to revitalise NASA, Robert L Carter plans on leaving none of the old stones un-turned. To that end even the crawlers, the two mighty tracked machines which have since the early days of the Apollo Programme been used to move NASAs spacecraft from the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) to the launch pad have now had a complete overhaul and make over to enable them to carry all the old programme spacecraft which Carter plans to resurrect and the new generation of spacecraft he hopes to create. The first spacecraft to be rolled-out on the overhauled crawlers is the Space Shuttle Atlantis as it makes its way to the launch pad to become the first in NASA's new orbital shuttle fleet. To be continued.
