Description
We love to grill. Well, actually, I do all the prep work and Marshall grills. Our standard faire is wild caught whole catfish, bone-in chicken breasts and turkey hot dogs. Everything, with the exception of the turkey hot dogs, gets a good soaking in Louisiana Hot sauce (overnight preferably). Dry seasoning goes on the meat about two hours before the grill is lit. Cajun seasoning for the catfish and blackened seasoning for the chicken breasts.
Around 7pm or so the grill is made ready with charocal, the tiki torches are lit and the beer and tequila come out. On this particular day I'm drinking Barefoot, our new favorite pinot noire.
As usual, by the time the evening draws to a close we will have made toasts to every good thing and blessings in our lives. The first toast of the evening is mine to make: "To the king of the grill!", who just happened to be cloaked in swirling smoke rising from the grill. After noticing the swirling smoke, the late afternoon light filtering through the trees and golden tones of the aged tequila I thought this would make a good picture in addition to being a cherished moment.
