Description

Raw Urban scene. This plays out on an everyday basis where I live and I usually don't like to photograph these. But, there have been a few times where it is some impulse. "Take the Shot!", and this is one them. Thank you for stopping by and taking a peek at my world.

I pass scenes like this daily as well here in Sacramento. I have only taken two or three shots of them in all my years because it usually doesn't seem right - like taking pictures through someone's living room window, but yes, every now and then, there is a story in the scene that needs telling. This is one of those moments I think.

Oh, I understand that urge completely! I think it's a matter of what the shot ultimately means that determines whether or not you take it. In this case, you were spot-on correct! This is a stark and honest reminder of what the other side of the city is like: any city anywhere, and in any language! This is something universal and something too easy to ignore, especially if you live in a city! But this has a dignity and a grace to it that demands that you look and that you recognize what you're seeing, and it does so with the sort of dignity and grace that ALL human beings deserve. For that, this is a marvelous and important photo.
