What an image! This is vintage Americana in the best possible way, right down to the address and the Coka Cola sign. This is perfectly seen and presented and I love the stark black and white, it brings out that late night 99cent Taco Oasis feel that you can only get at some ungodly hour when the munchies strike and the only place open is that one cheap diner with the waitress who is either young and working her way through college, or old enough to remember the days when she could take your order while chewing gum AND smoking...there is a place in my old neighborhood that was like that. EVERYONE knew the waitress and she called everybody "darlin'." Unfortunately, the restaurant in question has gone upscale and the surly-sweetheart waitresses (who smoked) were replaced by uniformly cute waiters. Not a bad thing, but it somehow feels different when a GQ model type takes your order rather than Flo, Vera, or Alice.... Thank you for evoking all of that with this superb image!
