Description
More from Hindon,Wiltshire. These downs used to be my playground, the trees at the top of the picture hide what used to be our football pitch where we famously beat Winterslow 36 nil. The Wiltshire downs always have a milky appearance which is due to the chalk just below the surface. This chalk is an excellent filter for drinking water, and i have never tasted water like that of my childhood home.

A dark day for Winterslow! Beautiful image! What a wonderful place to walk! Is that a footpath sign? It makes me quite nostalgic for the walks I took with the Ramblers Association and with my sons. Thanks for the memories and the wonderful descriptions of your home.
