Description
I photographed this butterfly at the Butterfly House at the zoo. I asked the man there why this little soul's wings would be so tattered. He said it was purely a case of old age. The butterflies in there lived much, much longer than those in nature.

I suppose the older it gets the more prone it gets to flying around in circles. Great shot.

It is to bad that the wings are so battered but you caught those beautiful colors so well. Dana

It has beautiful coloring! Their wings are so fragile. An old butterfly is only weeks past emerging from the chrysalis.
