Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

Another nice one Errol and great point about cloudy days. They are great for nice even tonalities without blown highlights and shadows (unless you shoot the sky itself). Have you ever conisdered a zoom lense for this type of photography?!? ;'D

I really would love to know how many pairs of shoes you go through; or do you get specialized shoes for these hikes? I've been in some shady places taking pics but I don't think I got the minerals to hop in a hole with lava heading straight for me...lol! Can't wait to see the eye level shots. As always, excellent work boss!

"you'd probably singe the hair off your legs" reminds me of a walk in Baghdad, heat from above and also from ground! for you the clouds are good but for the lava it doesn't matter! ;o)
