Wonderful shapes and textures, Ana. Also, I like the values, and the sense of reflection on the ground. Even though this is an alley, there is lots of interest and a sense of dynamics.

Ana, you are an outstanding artist! I see what Helle sees. And it also gives me the feeling of a corner in a modern art gallery, where folk chat about the work, or maybe going for a coffee.

This is superb! Oh, I absolutely adore this piece of brilliant work! I am reminded of three figures standing in the rain, maybe walking home--or walking to a cafe and not caring that they're getting wet. I love the stories that this image tells me. Super work! Very, very engaging!

Your work is so rich, Ana, so opulento: Even if this were just a "scribble" (a rabisco), it would be masterful. Your quick, rapid brushstrokes are like wind & energy & lightning. Even your quick brushstrokes have "personality": Each of your strokes has character, like a personagem in a play. You're so articulado! And your washes make me want to dance: Even they are articulado, expressivo. And you have subtle light reddish hues in them; and of course, your whites and your open space ('negative' space)---always beautifully done. And then, you have sections of quick alternating/para a frente e para trás brush-strokes, which leave lots of dry-brush marks---those rapid "whoosh" movements you create, and they feel like energy blowing across the paper. This is a very vital work, your brush-work is just wonderful. As for the "alley": Your alley's almost like a gallery (as Andrea says), only a gallery of the mind & soul. Alleys feel that way, they can feel like passage-ways inside our souls. When we walk in this alley, it takes us back into our memories, and shows us memories of other people's lives. It's like walking into a "hall of mirrors" (I can't find the português, lol) where everywhere we look, we see parts of our pasts. This alley goes high into the sky, and it goes far back into space. And it looks like some people are standing on the bottom of the alley---in the lower portion of the painting---while all their "visions" appear above them. Peter (ebrink) says you can feel the "oppression": Yes, but I also feel a mysterious journey into the inner psique, and it's not just oppressive, it's revealing & fascinating. Another introspective painting from you...but with an energy & vitality that makes it jump off the page! Oba, do I love your art!
