Description
I cant decide wither to put him in the gothic section or the historical section :D
The gothic armor was considered the height of perfection for plate armor!
Every surface is turned and fluted giving added protection. Even heavy weapons would find it hard to break though and it was also lighter in weight than many other suits of the day. Its beauty and eye catching lines make it one of the most famous suits of armor ever. They were in production from 1450 to its last known use in 1645 during the English Civil War also known as the War of the Roses. It is unfortunate that around the same time this was introduced, gunpowder weapons were also introduced rendering all plate armor obsolete as weapons of war.

Armor of this time was a great art unto itself. I have always admired such armor and visit collections of it wherever I can find it. I just can't imagine falling off a horse and crashing to the ground wearing all this heavy metal:) Excellent photo nicely separated from whatever the background was.

Excellent postwork. My maiden name was Knight and we had all sorts of suits of armor in the house of all sizes and types. Great shot.

Of all suits of armor this is my favorite. I was watching a tv show dealing with knights and this was the suit they wore
