Description
Have been struggling with this one for some time now. It is still not exactly where I want it, but I thought that I post it anyway and see what others think...
This is a much bigger scale view of The City, home of Jazz and Kalee. We are looking at the eastern edge of The City. The city walls ~150m high and separate The City from the wasteland outside. On the right you can see one of the enormous waste dump sites. Even though The City reclaims most of its waste (~80%), with over 2 billion people living within its wall (The City covers most of a continent) there is still a lot that isn't recycled and gets dumped in the wasteland outside the walls by the yellow hover trucks. Around the dump site you can see a shanty town of outsiders (refugees, adventurers, and criminals (dumping prisoners outside the walls is a handy way to keep the prisons clean and unwanted people away from the City)) and a small watch post. On the left a transport is returning from one of the remote mining outposts.
One of the things I am working on is to add falling debris to the dump trucks hovering above the waste site. I am also not completely happy with the look of the waste piles...

Excellent sci fi!

Cool image, interesting scene. You may want to make changes to the shadows as the ship to the left appears to have different shades as to the the background. Another is to make the foreground sharper and fade it out towards the horizon.

Excellent work. You may want to try googling "Smokey Mountain Trash" (not to be confused with Smoky Mountains) to get some reference images of a dump site.
