I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Barbara - His/Her wings might have been clipped! Most of the birds in this park have been injured too badly and cannot be released back in the wild!
MrsRatbag
What a wonderful bird! And you got a great capture of him...
SoulEatar
Yes I know the feeling - Kind of like having one of your wings cliped - Fun photo :)

Stellar beyond words in this cool shot of the magnificent avian, Carin! You caught the awesome wings at just the right time. I believe morningglory, on a visit to her local zoo, posted a closeup today of the same species of bird. And I know you feel at sea without a laptop and Photoshop.

Very beautiful capture, Carin!

Waltz or Cha-Cha? They say timing is everything and you prove it here. Perfect shot at the perfect time. Wonderful work.

Exceptional capture. S/he looks like a Blue "dancing" Crane to me. They call them Stanley Cranes over here. Dana

You are fortunate to have old postable pictures. In every cloud there is a silver lining...get your old computer stolen...but a new one in return. Great shot of SA's national bird. Hugs, Bill:)

Great photo! So different from the Sandhill Cranes in this part of the world, but they both like to dance.
MrsLubner
How very unique! the form of the head and the coloring is fascinating. A crane and yet so different from ours. The stop action is impeccable.
