Description

Miss Strong, the town matriarch, is old enough to not freak out when the electricity goes off. Always keep a candle around! I just noticed she is missing her ever-present necklace. Oops... I was thinking about why my pictures usually look the same and why they look so different from some other people's. It occurred to me that my basic approach to picture-making is: The world is fundamentally light. Darkness must be added. And of course, some other people's perspective is: the world is fundamentally dark. Light must be added. Of course, I am speaking literally. This is not a metaphor for morality. You probably fall into one camp or the other. I tried doing a "dark place" picture here. I challenge YOU to work opposite of your normal approach and see what kind of magic happens. And, oh yes, thanks to Luthoricas for the free candle & holder prop!

As I see it, the minute I add a spot light, the rest of the world goes dark. I must play with the light to show the world where I want it to go! Great job here
