Description

What an incredible sight to behold--this volcanic crater spewing its smoke and fire, and the sweet lehua flower that grows everywhere around it. Nature at it finest!! And btw, I AM in Seattle, but believe it or not, have taken all of about 10 fotos. I worked for two days for a friend, got back today. Tomorrow, though, it's foto mania!!! Tara, Denise and I are off on some kind of adventure---you'll be hearing (and seeing) all about it soon!!

Great capture Marilyn this looks great, seeing the destructiveness and beauty at the same time. The lehua flower reminds me of our New Zealand Christmas tree the Pohutakawa tree's flower. It can be seen at the following address.. http://www.new-zealand-pictures.co.nz/data/media/9/pohutukawa-tree_1902.jpg Excellent posting!!

So many contrasts in one place...but as usual your use of color wins out:) Have a ball on the "all girls photo shoot".

Oh, oh, I hope the Seattle authorities have been warned about what is about to descent on their fair city. BTW - great shot.

do look wondful contrast of one that can destroy and the other one just looks so lovely. adventures to put the soul into another rim. To bring the mind ideas it never had before. adventures to put friendships on the right paths and if you see a golden road do follow it to the green city

How did I miss this!? I guess there's such a thing as brain flatulence after all. Must have been a doozie. Anyway, WOW! You were standing that close to an active crater? WOW! Impressive: both you and the flower. I happen to love volcanoes (except when they ground air traffic like a certain culprit who shall remain nameless has done.) And what you've done here is nothing less than spectacular. This is a marvelous and stirring shot.
