Just screwing around today. This was actually kind of a pain but it came out cool! My Japanese friends will wonder what it is. For those of you who are new to HAL, this is an image of a terminal to the HAL 9000 computer. HAL has been rated 13 out of 50 of the greatest villains of all time according to Wikipedia. HAL was first seen in 2001 a Space Odyssey as the computer system aboard the Discovery that eventually murdered the entire crew. This interface is an iconic image which all of us old gray hairs know as one of the bad guys. 2001 is an extremely slow movie by todays standards (many people who would see it for the first time today wouldn't even make it through the whole thing). However, for those of us who have seen it and have experienced the fear HAL inspired, I'm sure you will enjoy this render. We learn in the sequal 2010 why HAL became a murderer in 2001. That didn't mean that any of us trusted him any more in the sequal than in the original.
