I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

Stark lighting effects really pop out the awesome cragginess (is that a word?), texture and danger of what you charitably term a hill, Carin. I think it looks like a massive pile of ancient dinosaur bones. That's definitely a humongous skull at the bottom. BTW, wonderful color and contrast in this one, young lady.

An excellent image, it does look like the mask. I am familiar with the movie you mentioned although I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing. I think there are a total of three of them now. I wish they'd stop screaming already.

Great formations, nicely shot! But a little scary, no? Great job!

It certainly looks like a ghoul. Some of those rocks look like volcanic lava leftovers. Your brother sure does help out with the scale and perspective. Fantastic capture with that blue sky. Dana

I envy you for being so close to your brother. If I tried to take a photo of him, he'd throw a rock at me. :-) The pov on this really gives great depth to the shot.

Looks like the skull of a giant. Excellent and very interesting shot, fantastic POV.

Oh, it really is Edvard Munch's Scream! Awesome for you to observe this!

Edvard Munch once described his painting "The Scream" as "the enormous, infinite scream of nature." A rather grim personal vision, but Munch was like that from time to time. The skull rock reminds me of the figure in his painting "The Scream" and that's what immediately drew me in. Funny, I have seen the "Scream" movie mask and in a lot of ways, it bears an uncanny resemblance to the pronounced skull figure in Munch's painting, and your picture makes me think that Munch might have visited this rock (although he didn't. At least not that I know of.) This is amazingly well seen and as always, perfectly presented. I love this!
