Description

the public beach in Sandy Cove, VA seems to be an area, roughly 60 feet wide surrounded by private property and a heaps of signs ;-)

It may interest some to know that here in Hawaii,..no one can restrict anyone else from any beach. Even Bill Gates has to allow people access to the beach by his houses. It was a deal struck when U.S. annexed Hawaii,.no Hawaiian,.or anyone, can be denied access to the water in any area.

We don't have private beaches here either. Its a terrible idea.

I don't see how anyone can "own" a beach. Great shot, though.

This is common back east. Having grown up in New England I would encounter this often. Am quite serious when I say some would run barb wire and the three metal pole pylon to support it, along with the " YOU WILL BE PROSECUTED " postings. It would look to be like Normandy beach in WW II. For morningglory, back a few hundred years ago when property was aquired along the coast, the beach front right up to the tide line was alloted as that property. No one planned that in the future there would be so many, and that they would want to enjoy the beach too. A well seen photo op.
