Description

This is part 2 of a 3-part tale. Yesterday I posted an image of an Eastern Box Turtle that was swimming in my pond. I found that odd because it was the first time I had ever seen one actually swimming in open water. I went to the shoreline where it was headed and waited for it to crawl out of the water. When it got close to the shore, I took a pic. As it emerged, it seemed to be struggling a bit making headway. I managed to get a shot just as it was fully on dry land. Right after I got this shot, my cat showed up and started investigating the turtle so it immediately closed up its shell and remained motionless. The cat did not seem inclined to go anywhere else so I decided to move on to another location and see if I could distract the cat. This plan worked and within about 15 minutes, I returned to where I had last seen the turtle; but that part of the story will have to wait till tomorrow. Thanks to those who take the time to comment.
