Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Huge tanks. We still have a lot of water tanks in Hawaii too. Nice pov. Aloha

All our country towns have towers like this that house water in case of fire. Is that what these are for, or is it drinking water? Great shot and tones BTW.

I love the rhythm of the tensioning screws around the drums! A powerful composition.

Lovely shot of these tanks, they reminds me of the old railway tanks with the water for the old steam loco's... We have a 25,000 liter water tank at our house in Waikokowai.. There are still many country properties in New Zealand that still use tanks..

You'll get a couple of showers from these puppies! Wonderful POV and the coloring is quite unusual! Well done! :)

I liked the christmas lights on them; and they are a great colour! Well captured!

I am green with envy...perfect title. I haven't seen wooden water tanks since the last time I watched "Petty Coat Junction" on TV with my daughters 30 years ago:)
