This is part of a story I am writing, about a tired old wizard, his cat and the spirit of Bast.
The cat was so upset to see her beloved wizard worry about losing his lost youth and his fabulous magic.
She watched him scan his books of magical spells, as he popped his steaming mung bean tea on the floor. She loved her wizard so, and worried about him, but then Bast appeared before the cat as cats are the only creatures who see her. Bast made magic from the sacred scarob necklace that she held in her hand, and the magic restored all the fabulous spells the wizard once knew in his youth. Then the story evolves including all the wizard's trials and tribulations as the magic literally goes to his head.
I really enjoyed making this picture and sat up until 5 one morning so that my eldest grandson would get the card I was making him for his 13th birthday, a card he requested had my Amy cat and a wizard in too. From there the stories began - Love you Ben, hope you have the best teenage years xx

Every so cool....I wish you were my grandmother...I keep telling my grand daughter how lucky she is to have a grandmother who comes and spends the night and reads stories to her, I never had that...In fact I was telling my mom how lucky my grandchildren are and she cried because she never knew her grandparents.

What a wonder! I always enjoy the sense of life and color and yeah, magic in your stuff! It's always so crisp and refreshing and rich in the most extravagant details. You'd do wonders with childrens' books, and that's saying something since childrens' literature is so darn hard to write, but you create such fantastic wonders with just the right amount of mind-stretching whimsy that always makes stuff lively: kinda like those funny shoes with curled up, pointy-toes...you can't help but feel giddy when you put them on. Your work is like that, which is something desperately needed in a world like this crazy place we're all living in when we're not visiting more human-friendly or magical realms. This is marvelous, simply marvelous. Ah, and you reference Bast...she's one of my favorite ancient Egyptian goddesses; I had a cat I was going to name Bast, until I figured that she'd learn the origin of her name and it would go to her head. I named her Natasha instead, and well...the name still went to her head! But that's a cat for you! Anyway, I'm rambling and I just wanted to pop in and enjoy your rich work.

Cool storyline and great painting. Digital painting is a skill I admire but sadly lack. Sorry to hear you've been having problems with piracy. It's a shame folk can't just create their own work instead of copying others and claiming it as their own. Fortunately my gallery is 99% tat so I'm pretty safe!

The wizard is rather cute isn't he? Love this image too! I am surprised to learn of your misfortune, I recently found out some of my art has been stolen and is being sold on a Chinese site! I am so sorry they took your work Jane, I know how much you put into it and it saddens me deeply to hear of this...I recently saw an ad on tv here that reminded me a whole lot of your work, made me think immediately of you. I haven't seen it since so I wonder if it had to do with those that took your work...if I see it again I will let you know! Big hugs Lady Jane!
