Description

Getting to the top of the Duomo in Florence (Firenze) is actually quite easy. Offers spectacular views.

This gives a very impressive view of how large the cathedral is. The dome is very big. Today, we don't know how they succeeded in building it since there are no descriptions of how it was done. Imagine being an early renaissance work man working at this height - scary and difficult. Good job with the photo.

How beautiful Nick, I love the lighting, clarity and detail in the photo. Very good exposure as well. Thanks!

It was a very cool experience walking up inside the dome, especially standing on the interior looking down on the nave. The construction is also amazing, using chains to keep the dome from spreading out and collapsing, use of the double dome and the ribs... very ingenious design.
