Description

Hello everyone and thanks for looking ... I managed to win a contest at one of the other art sites, and got a gift certificate to www.xurge3d.com. Xurge, a.k.a. Carlos, has been creating fantastic outfits for Poser characters for as long as I've been playing with it, and the texture quality is outstanding. I highly recommend checking it out. Also, I'm still playing around with materials and reflective surfaces. One thing I've noticed is that you really have to be careful with getting your characters feet on the ground, because the reflections definitely show if your pose is floating, even a little bit. And reflections take a whole lot of time to render, so it's even more frustrating when you spend several hours watching the progress only to find a floating foot near the end of the render. :( And I also managed to dig through the runtime to find a little character I don't think I've ever played with... The little robot cat came as part of the bundled content with Poser 6, and looks really good with reflective surfaces and indirect lighting. Well, that's my opinion at least, but I might be a little bit biased. What do all of you think??? Tom Seaview123 P.S. -- Oh, and the starfield in the background was painted in Photoshop Elements. the bugs on the wall remind me of an old star trek eppisode where a flying jellyblob landed on Mr. Spock's back.... Do test renders before you go for the big one = lol... check for things being in position - your art looks great.

"Psst, hey red, you got any gum or breath mints? I had a gyro for lunch with onions and I'd rather not make first contact with my breath kicking like this!" Very cool group shot. You sure do like to cram as many charactrs as possible into a scene!

Congratulations on the win Tom. I know what you mean, placing feet acurately on the ground can be a pain. It saves me alot of grief when I remember to area render the feet before the main render. I don't always remember though. :0( This is an excellent scene, plenty of detail and a nicely done reflective floor.

Man, I've been looking for an excuse to do an image like this for a while, just a conglomeration of different alien characters. Now I've got inspriation. Great looking image.
