The roman soldier better trained better armed better than paid than most soldiers of the day. he had to be able to read and write. he would do a 25 mile route march in full gear three times month. he could not marry offically. He had to serve 25 years This is me actually He wears a standard roman helmet with a crest the crest means he could be junior officer. He wears plate armor once the Roman using it we will not see plate armor for about 500 years he carries a short sword called a gladius
